Mattoon Arts Council

Who We Are & Our Vision

​Founded in 1999 by an act of the Mattoon City Council, the Mattoon Arts Council supports, develops, facilitates and promotes high-quality, affordable arts programs and events for people of all ages. The Mattoon Arts Council operates out of the Tourism & Arts office in the Mattoon Depot.

The Mattoon Arts Council envisions a vibrant, creative community where arts activities are frequent and accessible. We strive to provide ample opportunities for everyone to engage with and enjoy the arts, recognizing their importance not only as a cultural asset but also as a key driver of community and economic development.
